Firm Overview

At the Miami law firm of Carmen M. Morales, P.A., since 1991 we have devoted our practice exclusively to marital and family law and have helped countless families throughout South Florida and with ties to South Florida. We take a team approach to resolving cases that is built on a foundation of professionalism and compassion for the issues our clients face.

Recognitions and Achievements

Based on dedication and hard work, Carmen M. Morales has been recognized through peer reviews as a respected member of the legal community through the following achievements:

  • Board Certified Specialist in Marital and Family. Less than 5% of all lawyers in Florida are certified in any specialist field. Rigorous standards for board certification are set by the Supreme Court of Florida, which requires:
  • Minimum of five years of legal practice
  • Substantial involvement in a specialty area
  • Continued legal training
  • Passing peer review assessment of competence, character, ethics and professionalism
  • Re-application every five years for ongoing certification.
  • Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator
  • Florida Super Lawyer. Candidates are evaluated based on a Blue Ribbon Panel Review of preeminent peers in their practice area, with only 5% of Florida attorneys selected as Super Lawyers.

Firm Philosophy

In general, it is our firm’s philosophy that family law cases resolve more favorably when settled out of court. We employ alternative dispute resolution (ADR) techniques to resolve disputes, such as negotiation, mediation, and collaborative law. Such methods not only help us reach our goal of making the legal process cost-effective, but also help families avoid the emotional strain and negative impact of court proceedings. As much as possible, our mission is to make clients happy and reduce the painful aspect of legal procedures during a difficult time of transition. Using a customer-service oriented, professional approach, we also maintain a high level of communication with our clients, and involve them as an integral part of our team.

Legal Experience

While the majority of cases settle out of court, for some cases, litigation is necessary to protect a client’s rights. Carmen M. Morales has earned a reputation of being a strong and aggressive litigator and is well regarded among lawyers and judges throughout South Florida. Her track record for winning cases is impressive, winning a majority of all cases tried during a career that spans close to two decades.

In contrast to many lawyers who focus solely on trials and exclude appellate work, Ms. Morales has argued appeals on behalf of her clients. Framing points for appeal takes extraordinary skill to master. Even though appellate work is a much smaller aspect of her caseload, every appeal she has presented in Florida has made case law.

Carmen Morales uses her skills as a certified specialist and expertise as a negotiator to help parties come to amicable settlements thereby helping the parties avoid litigation and its attendant costs—both emotional and financial.
